ecoEXPLORE Friends Program-The Snakes of North Carolina

Join our partner, Lake Waccamaw State Park, to help celebrate NC State Park’s Year of the Snake! Have you ever wanted to learn about snakes in our area? The presentation will give an introduction to snakes and how many are estimated in the USA, and NC. Participants will also learn about the 37 species of native snakes to NC and the differences between them. Such differences include egg layers vs. live births and venomous vs. nonvenomous. Also, snake safety and identification tips will also be discussed along with interesting myths about our scaly friends.
